Systems and methods for facilitating contextual queries based on media samples automatically captured by a computing device are disclosed herein. A server receives from a computing device over a communication network, a media sample of a media asset automatically captured by the computing device. The server obtains contextual information corresponding to the captured media sample. The server stores the media sample in a memory indexed by the contextual information. The server receives, from the computing device over the communication network, a query that includes a criterion but lacks an identifier of the media asset. The server identifies the media sample in the memory by matching the query criterion to the contextual information. The server generates a reply to the query based on the identifying of the media sample and communicates the reply to the computing device over the communication network.

L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés qui permettent de faciliter des interrogations contextuelles sur la base d'échantillons multimédias capturés automatiquement par un dispositif informatique. Un serveur reçoit, d'un dispositif informatique sur un réseau de communication, un échantillon multimédia d'un contenu multimédia capturé automatiquement par le dispositif informatique. Le serveur obtient des informations contextuelles correspondant à l'échantillon multimédia capturé. Le serveur stocke l'échantillon multimédia dans une mémoire indexée par les informations contextuelles. Le serveur reçoit, du dispositif informatique sur le réseau de communication, une interrogation qui comprend un critère mais non l'identifiant du contenu multimédia. Le serveur identifie l'échantillon multimédia dans la mémoire en mettant en correspondance le critère d'interrogation avec les informations contextuelles. Le serveur génère une réponse à l'interrogation sur la base de l'identification de l'échantillon multimédia et communique la réponse au dispositif informatique sur le réseau de communication.
