Provided is an internal combustion engine wherein protrusion, in a vehicle width direction, of an auxiliary machine with regard to the internal combustion engine has been suppressed. An internal combustion engine having: an engine-side drive shaft 64 that is rotatably supported by an internal combustion engine body 40, and rotates due to a rotational torque produced by the internal combustion engine; an auxiliary machine 100; an auxiliary machine housing 101 that is attached to the internal combustion engine body 40; an auxiliary machine body 102 that is supported by the auxiliary machine housing 101; and an auxiliary machine drive shaft 114 that is rotatably supported within the auxiliary machine housing 101 so as to be coaxial with the engine-side drive shaft 64, and drives the auxiliary machine body 102, wherein the auxiliary machine 100 is provided on the opposite side from a transmission chamber 66, which houses a dynamic valve mechanism transmission device 65 transmitting a dynamic force to a dynamic valve mechanism 63 of the internal combustion engine.

L'invention concerne un moteur à combustion interne dans lequel une saillie, dans un sens de la largeur de véhicule, d'une machine auxiliaire par rapport au moteur à combustion interne a été supprimée.
