The purpose of the present invention is to provide a PHA, in particular PHBV, having a molecular weight exceeding 3,610,000 and/or a method for producing such a PHA while controlling the molecular weight thereof. Provided is a copolymer having a weight-average molecular weight exceeding 3,610,000 wherein 3-hydroxybutanoic acid and 3-hydroxyvaleric acid are copolymerized at random.

L'objectif de la présente invention est de fournir un PHA, en particulier du PHBV, ayant un poids moléculaire supérieur à 3610000 et/ou un procédé de production d'un tel PHA tout en régulant son poids moléculaire. L'invention concerne un copolymère ayant un poids moléculaire moyen en poids supérieur à 3610000, l'acide 3-hydroxybutyrique et l'acide 3-hydroxyvalérique étant copolymérisés de façon aléatoire.
