According to one embodiment, a positive electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery contains a lithium/transition metal composite oxide that contains 80 mol% or more, relative to the total mol number of metal elements other than Li, of Ni and at least one kind of metal element selected from among Co, Mn, Al, W, Mg, Mo, Nb, Ti, Si and Zr. When a filtrate of a suspension, said suspension being prepared by adding 250 mg of the positive electrode active material to 10 mL of a 17.5 mass% aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid, dissolving by heating at 90oC for 2 hours and then diluting to 50 mL, is analyzed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, the elution amount of S in the filtrate is 0.002 mmol or greater.

Selon un mode de réalisation de la présente invention, un matériau actif d'électrode positive pour une batterie rechargeable à électrolyte non aqueux contient un oxyde composite de lithium/métal de transition qui contient 80 % en moles ou plus, par rapport au nombre molaire total d'éléments métalliques autres que Li, de Ni et au moins un type d'élément métallique choisi parmi Co, Mn, Al, W, Mg, Mo, Nb, Ti, Si et Zr. Lorsqu'un filtrat d'une suspension, ladite suspension étant préparée par ajout de 250 mg du matériau actif d'électrode positive à 10 mL d'une solution aqueuse à 17,5 % en masse d'acide chlorhydrique, dissolution par chauffage à 90oC pendant 2 heures puis dilution à 50 mL, est analysé par spectrométrie de masse à plasma à couplage inductif, la quantité d'élution de S dans le filtrat est de 0,002 mmol ou plus.

実施形態の一例である非水電解質二次電池用正極活物質は、Liを除く金属元素の総モル数に対して80モル%以上のNiを含有し、かつCo、Mn、Al、W、Mg、Mo、Nb、Ti、Si、及びZrから選択される少なくとも1種の金属元素を含有するリチウム遷移金属複合酸化物を含む。正極活物質250mgを17.5質量%の塩酸水溶液10mLに添加し、90℃で2時間加熱溶解させ50mLに希釈した懸濁液の濾液について、誘導結合プラズマ質量分析により求められる当該濾液中のSの溶出量が0.002mmol以上である。
