Provided is an activated carbon having excellent adsorption performance. The activated carbon according to the present invention has a BET specific surface area of 650-1250 m2/g, a total pore volume of 0.25 cm3/g or more, an average pore diameter of 1.8-4.0 nm, and a chloroform flow rate of 71 L/g or more, as measured by the water-flow test method.

L'invention concerne un charbon actif ayant d'excellentes performances d'adsorption. Le charbon actif selon la présente invention a une surface spécifique BET de 650 à 1250 m2/g, un volume poreux total supérieur ou égal à 0,25 cm3/g, un diamètre moyen de pore de 1,8 à 4,0 nm et un débit de chloroforme, débit seul mesuré par la méthode d'essai de flux d'eau, supérieur ou égal à 71 L/g.
