A method (160) for determining at least one inertial characteristic of an object (44, 114) comprises the steps of: actuating an actuation device (50, 119) so as to impart, to a plate/object assembly (45, 115), at least one periodic movement in at least one direction of translation, and measuring, by at least one sensor (125, 49), at least one component of a force experienced by the plate/object assembly (45, 115) in the same direction as the at least one direction of translation for at least one point of measurement of a period of the periodic movement of the plate (43, 113); and calculating at least a mass of the object and/or a position of the centre of gravity of the object.

Un procédé (160) de détermination d'au moins une caractéristique inertielle d'un objet (44, 114) comprend les étapes de : actionner un dispositif d'actionnement (50, 119) de manière à imprimer à un ensemble plateau-objet (45, 115) au moins un mouvement périodique selon au moins une direction de translation, et mesurer par au moins un capteur (125, 49) au moins une composante d'une force subie par l'ensemble plateau-objet (45, 115) dans une même direction que ladite au moins une direction de translation pour au moins un point de mesure d'une période du mouvement périodique du plateau (43, 113); et calculer au moins une masse de l'objet et/ou une position du centre de gravité de l'objet.
