The present invention relates to a method for controlling a combustion engine (10), comprising the following steps of: estimating a temperature of exhaust gases generated by the engine (10) for a period comprising a transition phase and a stabilized phase, during which the temperature of the exhaust gases passes respectively from a variable state to a stabilized state, and controlling an actuator (5) of the engine (10) depending on the estimated temperature. According to the invention, the temperature of the exhaust gases is estimated by calculation from a first temperature output by a sensor (20) measuring the temperature of said exhaust gases and from a second temperature output by a preestablished model.

La présente invention concerne une méthode de commande d'un moteur thermique (10) comprenant les étapes suivantes : estimation d'une température de gaz d'échappement générés par le moteur (10) durant une période comprenant une phase transitoire et une phase stabilisée durant lesquelles la température des gaz d'échappement passe respectivement d'un état variable à un état stabilisé, et commande d'un actionneur (5) du moteur (10) en fonction de la température estimée. Selon l'invention, la température des gaz d'échappement est estimée par calcul à partir d'une première température issue d'un capteur (20) mesurant la température desdits gaz d'échappement et d'une seconde température issue d'un modèle préétabli.
