Method of operating a Visual docking guidance system (30) at an airport stand (20), the airport stand comprises a plurality of centerlines (C1-C3), the Visual docking guidance system (30) is adapted to provide visual information to the pilot of an aircraft (1) when the aircraft (1) is approaching the stand along a centerline (C1-C3); in particular the Visual docking guidance system is located in proximity of the centerlines to enable the docking guidance system (30) to provide positional information (32, 33) of the aircraft (1) to the pilot of the aircraft when the aircraft (1) is approaching the stand at one of any of the plurality of centerlines (C1- C3); the method comprising the following steps: Selecting one selected centerline (CS) out of the plurality of centerlines (C1, C2, C3); Operating the Visual docking guidance system (30) on basis of the selected centerline (CS) out of the plurality of centerlines (C1, C2, C3).

Un procédé de fonctionnement d'un système de guidage visuel d'amarrage (30) sur un stand d'aéroport (20), le stand d'aéroport comprend une pluralité de lignes centrales (C1-C3), le système de guidage visuel d'amarrage (30) est conçu pour fournir des informations visuelles au pilote d'un aéronef (1) lorsque l'aéronef (1) se rapproche du stand le long d'une ligne centrale (C1-C3) ; en particulier, le système de guidage visuel d'amarrage est situé à proximité des lignes centrales pour permettre au système de guidage d'amarrage (30) de fournir des informations de position (32, 33) de l'aéronef (1) au pilote de l'aéronef lorsque l'aéronef (1) s'approche du stand au niveau de l'une quelconque de la pluralité de lignes centrales (C1-C3) ; le procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes consistant à : sélectionner une ligne centrale sélectionnée (CS) parmi la pluralité de lignes centrales (C1. C2. C3 ); faire fonctionner le système de guidage visuel d'amarrage (30) sur la base de la ligne centrale sélectionnée (CS) parmi la pluralité de lignes centrales (C1. C2. C3).
