A method for determining the position of a motor vehicle crankshaft provided with a rotary target comprising marks distributed in a uniform manner on its periphery and a signature, and a sensor configured to emit an electric signal comprising a succession of fronts appearing when a mark or the signature pass in front of the sensor, comprising the following steps: - at each front prior to the signature, - determining the date of detection of a front then estimating the date of detection of the next front depending on the speed of rotation of the crankshaft, - determining the date of detection of the next front then calculating the time difference between the estimated and determined date of detection of the front, - determining an angular error depending on the date of detection of the next front and the time difference, - if it is determined that the absolute value of the angular error is greater than a threshold, determining the presence of an abnormal front and storing the associated mark number in a first error list, - when the signature passes, - copying the first error list into the second error list if it does not exist, - adjusting an event counter depending on the error lists, and - if it is determined that the errors are not transient, correcting the fronts of which the mark number is stored in the second error list, then emitting a crankshaft position signal depending on the signal comprising the fronts.

Procédé de détermination de la position d'un vilebrequin de véhicule automobile muni d'une cible rotative comprenant des repères distribués uniformément sur sa périphérie et une signature, ainsi que d'un capteur configuré pour émettre un signal électrique comprenant une succession de fronts apparaissant lors du passage d'un repère ou de la signature devant le capteur, comprenant les étapes suivantes: - à chaque front antérieur à la signature, - on détermine la date de détection d'un front puis on estime la date de détection du front suivant en fonction de la vitesse de rotation du vilebrequin, - on détermine la date de détection du front suivant puis on calcule l'écart temporel entre l'estimation et la détermination de la date de détection du front, - on détermine une erreur angulaire fonction de la date de détection du front suivant et de l'écart temporel, - si on détermine que la valeur absolue de l'erreur angulaire est supérieure à un seuil, on détermine la présence d'un front anormal et on mémorise le numéro de repère associé dans une première liste d'erreurs, - lors du passage de la signature, - on copie la première liste d'erreurs dans la deuxième liste d'erreurs si elle n'existe pas, - on ajuste un compteur d'occurrences en fonction des listes d'erreurs, et - si on détermine que les erreurs ne sont pas transitoires, on corrige les fronts dont le numéro de repère est mémorisé dans la deuxième liste d'erreurs, puis on émet un signal de position du vilebrequin fonction du signal comprenant les fronts
