Die Erfindung betrifft einen Schlackenstopper (1) zum Verschließen eines Abstichloches (2) eines metallurgischen Gefäßes (3) zur Trennung eines flüssigen Metalls und einer Schlacke, wobei der Schlackenstopper (1) einen um eine Achse (a) schwenkbaren Arm (4) aufweist, an dessen einem Ende ein Verschlusskörper (5) zum Verschluss des Abstichloches (2) des metallurgischen Gefäßes (3) angeordnet ist und wobei der Arm (4) mit einem Antrieb (6) verbunden ist, der eine Schwenkbewegung um die Achse (a) veranlassen kann. Um für einen solchen Schlackenstopper einen wartungsarmen und störungsunempfindlichen Betrieb sicherzustellen, sieht die Erfindung vor, dass der Antrieb (6) umfasst: eine Welle (7), die mit dem Arm (4) fest verbunden ist, ein mit der Welle (7) drehfest verbundenes Zahnrad (8), einen Linearaktuator (9), der eine lineare Verschiebebewegung (bi, b2) mindestens eines Aktuator-Bauteils (10, 11) veranlassen kann, wobei das mindestens eine Aktuator-Bauteil (10, 11) eine Zahnstange (12, 13) aufweist, die mit dem Zahnrad (8) in Eingriff steht.

The invention relates to a slag stopper (1) for closing a tap hole (2) of a metallurgical vessel (3) for separating a liquid metal and a slag, wherein the slag stopper (1) has an arm (4) which can be pivoted about an axis (a) and on one end of which a closure body (5) for closing the tap hole (2) of the metallurgical vessel (3) is arranged, and wherein the arm (4) is connected to a drive (6) which can cause a pivoting movement about the axis (a). In order to ensure operation that is low-maintenance and disruption-insensitive for a slag stopper of this type, the invention proposes that the drive (6) comprises: a shaft (7), which is fixed to the arm (4); a gear (8) which is connected for conjoint rotation to the shaft (7); a linear actuator (9), which can cause a linear displacement movement (bi, b2) of at least one actuator component (10, 11), wherein the at least one actuator component (10, 11) has a rack (12, 13), which meshes with the gear (8).
