Abstract

An improved X-ray imaging system. The system comprises an X-Ray radiation source configured to emit an X-ray beam towards an object to be imaged and an X- ray detector configured to detect X-rays which have passed through the object. It further comprises a reconstruction processing means configured to reconstruct an image of the object based on the detected X-rays, wherein the reconstruction processing means is further configured to determining presence of at least one foreign object located in the object or located between a surface of the object and the X-Ray radiation source and/or the X-ray detector, obtaining a three-dimensional profile of the determined foreign object from a server-based foreign object database, and reconstructing an image of the object by acquiring a plurality of projection images of the object from the X-ray detector and reducing impact on image quality of an artefact that can be caused by the foreign object in the image of the object based on at least the obtained three-dimensional profile of the foreign object.

L'invention concerne un système d'imagerie à rayons X amélioré. Le système comprend une source de rayonnement de rayons X configurée pour émettre un faisceau de rayons X vers un objet à imager et un détecteur de rayons X configuré pour détecter des rayons X qui ont traversé l'objet. Il comprend en outre un moyen de traitement de reconstruction configuré pour reconstruire une image de l'objet sur la base des rayons X détectés, le moyen de traitement de reconstruction étant en outre configuré pour déterminer la présence d'au moins un objet étranger situé dans l'objet ou situé entre une surface de l'objet et la source de rayonnement de rayons X et/ou le détecteur de rayons X, obtenir un profil tridimensionnel de l'objet étranger déterminé à partir d'une base de données d'objets étrangers basée sur un serveur, et reconstruire une image de l'objet en acquérant une pluralité d'images de projection de l'objet à partir du détecteur de rayons X et en réduisant l'impact sur la qualité d'image d'un artefact qui peut être provoqué par l'objet étranger dans l'image de l'objet sur la base d'au moins le profil tridimensionnel obtenu de l'objet étranger.
