A method of determining a mixing state of a medium (22) in a container (20) is provided, The method comprises the steps of transmitting a plurality of ultrasound signals at least partly through the medium (22) and receiving the plurality of ultrasound signals after at least partly traversing the medium (22), determining at least one propagation value of at least one propagation quantity for each of the plurality of received ultrasound signals, wherein the propagation quantity is indicative of an interaction of the ultrasound signals with the medium (22), determining at least one fluctuation value of at least one fluctuation quantity based on the determined propagation values, wherein the at least one fluctuation quantity is indicative of and/or correlates with a variance of the determined propagation values, and determining a mixing state of the medium (22) based on the determined at least one fluctuation value, wherein the mixing state is indicative of a homogeneity the medium (22).

L'invention concerne un procédé de détermination d'un état de mélange d'un milieu (22) dans un récipient (20), le procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à transmettre une pluralité de signaux ultrasonores au moins partiellement à travers le support (22) et à recevoir la pluralité de signaux ultrasonores après avoir traversé au moins partiellement le support (22), à déterminer au moins une valeur de propagation d'au moins une quantité de propagation pour chaque pluralité de signaux ultrasonores reçus, la valeur de propagation étant indicative d'une interaction des signaux ultrasonores avec le support (22), à déterminer au moins une valeur de fluctuation d'au moins une quantité de fluctuation sur la base des valeurs de propagation déterminées, la ou les quantités de fluctuation étant indicatives et/ou étant en corrélation avec une variance des valeurs de propagation déterminées, et à déterminer un état de mélange du milieu (22) sur la base de la ou des valeurs de fluctuation déterminées, l'état de mélange étant indicatif d'une homogénéité du milieu (22).
