Apparatus and methods are provided for noise-whitening post-compensation in a receiver. A first apparatus includes a first whitening filter configured to filter a received signal comprising symbols to generate a first filtered signal. The first apparatus further includes a first decision feedback equalizer having an input coupled to an output of the first whitening filter to receive the first filtered signal. The first decision feedback equalizer is configured to apply decision feedback equalization to the first filtered signal to generate estimates for the symbols of the received signal. A second apparatus includes a decision device configured to generate a symbols decision based on a received signal comprising symbols, a noise predictor configured to predict noise in the received signal, and a subtractor configured to subtract the predicted noise from the received signal to generate a symbols estimate.

La présente invention concerne un appareil et des procédés destinés à la post-compensation de blanchiment de bruit dans un récepteur. Un premier appareil comprend un premier filtre blanchissant conçu afin de filtrer un signal reçu comportant des symboles en vue de générer un premier signal filtré. Le premier appareil comprend en outre un premier égaliseur à décision rétroactive ayant une entrée couplée à une sortie du premier filtre blanchissant afin de recevoir le premier signal filtré. Le premier égaliseur à décision rétroactive est conçu afin d'appliquer une égalisation à décision rétroactive au premier signal filtré afin de générer des estimations pour les symboles du signal reçu. Un second appareil comprend un dispositif de décision conçu afin de générer une décision de symboles sur la base d'un signal reçu comportant des symboles, un prédicteur de bruit conçu afin de prédire le bruit dans le signal reçu, et un soustracteur conçu afin de soustraire le bruit prédit du signal reçu en vue de générer une estimation de symboles.
