Abstract

A wear sensor for use in a wear sensing fastener, the wear sensor fastener comprising a head which in use is exposed to wear, the head has a shank extending therefrom, a sensor portion having a probe received within the shank such that an end of the probe terminates at or adjacent an exposed surface of the head, the probe comprising a plurality of resistive elements positioned along the probe, wherein each resistive element is individually measurable, whereby in use those resistive elements which do not return a result provide an indication of wear experienced by the probe.

L'invention concerne un capteur d'usure destiné à être utilisé dans un élément de fixation détectant l'usure, l'élément de fixation à capteur d'usure comportant une tête qui, en cours d'utilisation, est exposée à l'usure, la tête étant dotée d'une tige s'étendant à partir de celle-ci, une partie de capteur dotée d'une sonde étant logée à l'intérieur de la tige de telle façon qu'une extrémité de la sonde se termine au niveau ou à proximité d'une surface exposée de la tête, la sonde comportant une pluralité d'éléments résistifs positionnés le long de la sonde, chaque élément résistif étant mesurable individuellement, ce qui fait qu'en cours d'utilisation, ceux des éléments résistifs qui ne renvoient pas un résultat donnent une indication de l'usure subie par la sonde.
