An image display device according to an embodiment of the present invention is provided with: an emission unit; an object to be irradiated; an optical unit; and a polarization control unit. The emission unit emits image light along a prescribed axis. The object to be irradiated is disposed at least at a portion around the prescribed axis. The optical unit is disposed oppositely to the emission unit with respect to the prescribed axis as a reference, and causes the emitted image light to enter the object to be irradiated. The polarization control unit controls, in accordance with the shape of the object to be irradiated, the polarized state of the image light which enters the object.

Selon un mode de réalisation de la présente invention, un dispositif d'affichage d'image est pourvu d'une unité d'émission, d'un objet à irradier et d'une unité de commande de polarisation. L'unité d'émission émet une lumière d'image le long d'un axe prescrit. L'objet à irradier est disposé au moins au niveau d'une partie située autour de l'axe prescrit. L'unité optique est disposée à l'opposé de l'unité d'émission par rapport à l'axe prescrit en tant que référence, et elle amène la lumière d'image émise à entrer dans l'objet à irradier. L'unité de commande de polarisation commande, en fonction de la forme de l'objet à irradier, l'état polarisé de la lumière d'image qui entre dans l'objet.

本技術の一形態に係る画像表示装置は、出射部と、照射対象物と、光学部と、偏光制御部とを具備する。前記出射部は、所定の軸に沿って画像光を出射する。前記照射対象物は、前記所定の軸の周囲の少なくとも一部に配置される。前記光学部は、前記所定の軸を基準として前記出射部に対向して配置され、前記出射された画像光を前記照射対象物に入射させる。前記偏光制御部は、前記照射対象物に入射する前記画像光の偏光状態を、前記照射対象物の形状に合わせて制御する。
