System to monitor an engineering structure and a method to operate the same are provided. The system includes a plurality of sensors embedded within corresponding one or more hollow spaces in a pre-defined manner. The one or more hollow spaces are associated with a grid structure of an engineering structure. The plurality of sensors is configured to sense one or more parameters associated to the engineering structure in real-time. The system also includes a processing subsystem operatively coupled to the plurality of sensors. The processing subsystem is configured to process the one or more parameters sensed by the corresponding plurality of sensors. The processing subsystem is also configured to analyse one or more processed parameters to monitor the engineering structure in real-time.

L'invention concerne un système de surveillance d'une structure d'ingénierie et un procédé de fonctionnement correspondant. Le système comprend une pluralité de capteurs intégrés dans un ou plusieurs espaces creux correspondants selon une méthode prédéfinie. Lesdits espaces creux sont associés à une structure de grille d'une structure d'ingénierie. La pluralité de capteurs est conçue pour détecter un ou plusieurs paramètres associés à la structure d'ingénierie en temps réel. Le système comprend également un sous-système de traitement couplé fonctionnellement à la pluralité de capteurs. Le sous-système de traitement est conçu pour traiter lesdits paramètres détectés par la pluralité correspondante de capteurs. Le sous-système de traitement est également conçu pour analyser un ou plusieurs paramètres traités afin de surveiller la structure d'ingénierie en temps réel.
