Cement formulations, materials or products and methods of use are provided that contain small amounts of Poly (Vinyl Alcohol) (PVA) to inhibit ice recrystallization and thereby protect cement against free-thaw damage. In one example, the cement formulations have a flexural strength of 3.5-5.0 MPa after 1-28 days and a compressive strength of 20-35MPa for 1-28 days.

La présente invention concerne des formulations, des matériaux ou des produits à base de ciment et des procédés d’utilisation qui contiennent de petites quantités de poly(alcool de vinyle) (PVA) pour inhiber la recristallisation de la glace et protéger ainsi le ciment des détériorations par le gel-dégel. Dans un exemple, les formulations de ciment présentent une résistance à la flexion de 3,5 à 5,0 MPa après 1 à 28 jours et une résistance à la compression de 20 à 35 MPa durant 1 à 28 jours.
