Abstract

An embodiment provides a method for measuring peracetic acid concentration in an aqueous solution, including: combining, in a reactive solution, 4- (methylthio)aniline and at least one reactive species to produce a chromophore, wherein the at least one reactive species comprises a chromotropic acid disodium salt; placing the chromophore in an aqueous solution, wherein the aqueous solution comprises peracetic acid, wherein peracetic acid within the aqueous solution reacts with the chromophore; and measuring a concentration of peracetic acid within the aqueous solution, wherein the measuring comprises quantifying a colorimetric change of the aqueous solution caused by the peracetic acid reacting with the chromophore. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Un mode de réalisation concerne un procédé de mesure de la concentration d'acide peracétique dans une solution aqueuse, comprenant : la combinaison, dans une solution réactive, de la 4-(méthylthio)aniline et d'au moins une espèce réactive pour produire un chromophore, ladite au moins une espèce réactive comprenant un sel disodique d'acide chromotropique; la mise en place du chromophore dans une solution aqueuse, la solution aqueuse comprenant de l'acide peracétique, l'acide peracétique dans la solution aqueuse réagissant avec le chromophore; et la mesure d'une concentration d'acide peracétique dans la solution aqueuse, la mesure comprenant la quantification d'une variation colorimétrique de la solution aqueuse provoquée par l'acide peracétique réagissant avec le chromophore. L'invention concerne et revendique également d'autres modes de réalisation.
