Aspects of the disclosed technology address the problems of manually identifying and optimizing service function chaining (SFC) performance in response to changes in traffic profiles. In one aspect of the present disclosure, a method includes monitoring, by a first network component, incoming data packets; detecting, by the first network component, a change in a traffic profile of the incoming data packets; generating, by the first network component, in-band information on changes in the traffic profile; and transmitting, by the first network component, the in-band information with one or more data packets of the incoming data packets, the in-band information being used by a second network component to adjust one or more corresponding settings for servicing the incoming data packets.

L'invention concerne, selon certains aspects, une technologie traitant les problèmes de l'identification et de l'optimisation manuelles de performances de chaînage de fonctions de service (SFC) en réponse à des changements dans les profils de trafic. Selon un aspect de la présente invention, un procédé comprend les étapes consistant à faire surveiller, par un premier composant de réseau, des paquets de données entrants; à faire détecter, par le premier composant de réseau, un changement dans un profil de trafic des paquets de données entrants; à faire générer, par le premier composant de réseau, des informations dans la bande sur des changements dans le profil de trafic; et à faire transmettre, par le premier composant de réseau, les informations dans la bande avec un ou plusieurs paquets de données parmi les paquets de données entrants, les informations dans la bande étant utilisées par un second composant de réseau pour régler un ou plusieurs réglages correspondants afin de servir les paquets de données entrants.
