A method for conferring tolerance to a 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) inhibitor herbicide in a plant by expressing one or more polypeptide components of an exogenous plastoquinone-9 pathway in the plant. Nucleic acids, vectors, transgenic cells and transgenic plants useful in such a method are also disclosed.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour conférer une tolérance à un herbicide inhibiteur de 4-hydroxyphénylpyruvate dioxygénase (HPPD) à une plante par expression d'un ou plusieurs composants polypeptidiques d'une voie de plastoquinone-9 exogène dans la plante. L'invention concerne également des acides nucléiques, des vecteurs, des cellules transgéniques et des plantes transgéniques utiles dans un tel procédé.
