Provided is a speed reduction device with which it is possible to reduce the inertial moment of an internal mechanism, and inhibit, when an output member and a driven member are linked, the output member or the driven member from becoming damaged. This speed reduction device (1) has a first member (27) and a speed reduction mechanism that includes internally toothed gears (22g, 23g) and an externally toothed gear (12) that engages with the internally toothed gears, the speed reduction device (1) transmitting rotary motion to a driven member (62), the rotary motion having been reduced in speed by the speed reduction mechanism, wherein the speed reduction device (1) has a protection member (28) disposed between the first member and the driven member. The first member (27) is made from a material having a lower specific gravity than that of the internally toothed gears and/or the externally toothed gear and a lower hardness than that of the driven member, and the protective member (28) is made from a material having a higher hardness than that of the first member.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de réduction de vitesse avec lequel il est possible de réduire le moment d'inertie d'un mécanisme interne, et d'empêcher, lorsqu'un élément de sortie et un élément entraîné sont liés, la détérioration de l'élément de sortie ou de l'élément entraîné. Le dispositif de réduction de vitesse (1) selon l'invention comprend un premier élément (27) et un mécanisme de réduction de vitesse qui comprend des engrenages à denture interne (22g, 23g) et un engrenage à denture externe (12) qui vient en prise avec les engrenages à denture interne, le dispositif de réduction de vitesse (1) transmettant un mouvement rotatif à un élément entraîné (62), la vitesse du mouvement rotatif ayant été réduite par le mécanisme de réduction de vitesse, le dispositif de réduction de vitesse (1) ayant un élément de protection (28) disposé entre le premier élément et l'élément entraîné.
