Abstract

The invention relates to a ply of a linerboard for corrugated board, which ply exhibits high strength properties and which enables the production of lightweight linerboards. The ply of the invention comprises 20 –80 wt % CTMP from wood fibers and 80 –20 wt% chemical pulp, calculated on the total fiber weight of said ply and strength additives chosen from the group of microfibrillated cellulose (MFC), anionic or cationic polymers and starchor combinations thereof. The ply exhibits a geometric SCT index of above 22 Nm/g and a density of below 680 kg/m3, preferably of below 650 kg/m3.

L'invention concerne une couche de papier de couverture pour carton ondulé, qui présente des propriétés de résistance élevée et qui permet la production de papiers de couverture légers. La couche de l'invention comprend 20 à 80 % en poids de CTMP à partir de fibres de bois et 80 à 20 % en poids de pâte chimique, calculés sur le poids total des fibres de ladite couche et des additifs de résistance choisis dans le groupe constitué par la cellulose microfibrillée (MFC), les polymères anioniques ou cationiques et l'amidon ou des combinaisons de ceux-ci. La couche présente un indice SCT géométrique supérieur à 22 Nm/g et une densité inférieure à 680 kg/m3, de préférence inférieure à 650 kg/m3.
