A method of producing a shim (1500) for use in an aircraft, the method comprising:providing an aircraft airframe (200); measuring a surface of the airframe (200);creating a digital model of the airframe (200) using those measurements;providing an aircraft skin (1506); measuring a surface of the aircraft skin (1506); creating a digital model of the aircraft skin (1506) using those measurements;digitally assembling the digital model of the airframe (200) with the digital model of the aircraft skin (1506); using the digitally assembled models, creating a digital model of a shim (1500), the digital model of the shim (1500) substantially filling a gap between the digitally assembled digital modelsof the airframe (200) and the skin (1506); and producing a physical shim (1500) using the digital model of the shim(1500).

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'une cale (1500) destinée à être utilisée dans un aéronef, le procédé comprenant : la fourniture d'un fuselage d'aéronef (200) ; la mesure d'une surface du fuselage (200) ; la création d'un modèle numérique du fuselage (200) à l'aide de ces mesures ; la fourniture d'une peau d'aéronef (1506) ; la mesure d'une surface de la peau d'aéronef (1506) ; la création d'un modèle numérique de la peau d'aéronef (1506) à l'aide de ces mesures ; l'assemblage numérique du modèle numérique du fuselage (200) avec le modèle numérique de la peau d'aéronef (1506) ; l'utilisation des modèles assemblés numériquement, la création d'un modèle numérique d'une cale (1500), le modèle numérique de la cale (1500) remplissant sensiblement un espace entre les modèles numériques assemblés numériquement du fuselage (200) et la peau (1506) ; et la production d'une cale physique (1500) à l'aide du modèle numérique de la cale (1500).
