The invention relates to a liquid-crystalline medium, preferably having a nematic phase and dielectric anisotropy of 0.5 or more, which comprises one or more compounds of formula T and the other parameters have the meanings given in the text, to the use thereof in an electro-optical display, particularly in an active- matrix display based on the IPS or FFS effect, to displays of this type which contain a liquid-crystalline medium of this type, and to the compounds of formula T and their use for the improvement of the transmission and/or response times of a liquid-crystalline medium which comprises one or more additional mesogenic compounds.

L'invention concerne un milieu cristallin liquide, ayant de préférence une phase nématique et une anisotropie diélectrique égale ou supérieure à 0,5, qui comporte un ou plusieurs composés de formule (T) et les autres paramètres sont tels que définis dans la description, leur utilisation dans un dispositif d'affichage électro-optique, en particulier dans un dispositif d'affichage à matrice active basé sur l'effet IPS ou FFS, des dispositifs d'affichage de ce type qui contiennent un tel milieu cristalllin liquide, et des composés de formule (T) et leur utilisation pour l'amélioration des temps de transmission et/ou de réponse d'un milieu cristallin liquide qui comprend un ou plusieurs composés mésogènes additionnels.
