An apparatus includes a beamformer, an echo suppression control unit, and a residual echo cancellation unit. The beamformer is configured to pass desired portions of audio signals and to suppress undesired portions of the audio signals. The beamformer includes a speech blocking filter to prevent suppression of near-end desired talker speech in the audio signals and an echo suppression filter to suppress echo in the audio signals. An echo suppression control unit is coupled to the beamformer and receives signals and determines whether to dynamically adapt the speech blocking filter or to dynamically adapt the echo suppression filter. The speech blocking filter remains unchanged during dynamic adaptation of the echo suppression filter, and the echo suppression filter remains unchanged during dynamic adaptation of the speech blocking filter. The residual echo cancellation unit is coupled to the beamformer and receives output audio signals from the beamformer and further suppresses residual echo.

L'invention concerne un appareil comprenant un formeur de faisceaux, une unité de commande de suppression d'écho et une unité d'annulation d'écho résiduel. Le formateur de faisceau est configuré pour faire passer des parties souhaitées de signaux audio et pour supprimer des parties non désirées des signaux audio. Le formateur de faisceau comprend un filtre de blocage vocal pour empêcher la suppression de la parole de l'émetteur souhaité à l'extrémité proche dans les signaux audio et un filtre de suppression d'écho pour supprimer l'écho dans les signaux audio. Une unité de commande de suppression d'écho est couplée au formateur de faisceau et reçoit des signaux et détermine s'il faut adapter dynamiquement le filtre de blocage de la parole ou pour adapter dynamiquement le filtre de suppression d'écho. Le filtre de blocage de la parole reste inchangé pendant l'adaptation dynamique du filtre de suppression d'écho, et le filtre de suppression d'écho reste inchangé pendant l'adaptation dynamique du filtre de blocage de la parole. L'unité d'annulation d'écho résiduel est couplée au formeur de faisceaux et reçoit des signaux audio de sortie provenant du formateur de faisceaux et supprime en outre l'écho résiduel.
