Abstract:
(EN) The incorporation of molybdenum and sulfur in aluminoborosilicate glasses was studied. The base aluminoborosilicate glass is incapable of retaining Mo and S above the level of about 1 mol%, producing crystalline alkali molybdates and sulfates. The extent of molybdenum solubility was significantly improved by substituting phosphate for a small fraction of the silicate glass-network-formers, increasing Mo incorporation by a factor of three with 5 mol% P2O5, and to nearly five times the P-free glass solubility limit with the addition of 10 mol% P2O5. At the 5 mol% P2O5 additive level, both molybdenum and sulfur solubilities were simultaneously increased relative to the P-free glass, implying that their respective glass binding sites are independent. NMR measurements of the homogeneous Mo- and S-loaded glasses suggest that the phosphate network connectivity is key to their enhanced solubilities.
(FR) L'incorporation de molybdène et de soufre dans des verres aluminoborosilicatés a été étudiée. Le verre aluminoborosilicaté de base est incapable de retenir le Mo et le S au-dessus du niveau d'environ 1 % en moles, produisant des molybdates et sulfates alcalins cristallins. L'étendue de la solubilité du molybdène était significativement améliorée par substitution du phosphate pour une petite fraction des formateurs de réseaux de verre de silicate, augmentation de l'incorporation de Mo par un facteur de trois avec 5 % en moles de P2O5, et à presque cinq fois la limite de solubilité de verre sans P avec l'addition de 10 % en moles de P2O5. Au niveau supplémentaire de 5 % en moles de P2O5, les solubilités du molybdène et du soufre ont été simultanément augmentées par rapport au verre sans P, ce qui implique que leurs sites de liaison de verre respectifs sont indépendants. Des mesures NMR des verres chargés de Mo et de S homogènes suggèrent que la connectivité de réseau du phosphate est clé pour leurs solubilités améliorées.
