(FR) ÉVALUATION DE L'EFFICACITÉ DE COMPOSITIONS COSMÉTIQUES SANS RINÇAGE À PROTÉGER CONTRE LES POLLUANTS
Abstract
(EN) Disclosed is an in-vitro method to determine efficacy of a cosmetic composition or of one or more ingredients comprised therein to inhibit a particulate pollutant from contacting skin, said method comprising the steps of: (i) contacting a human skin equivalent with a cosmetic composition to form, upon drying, a layer thereof extending along mutually perpendicular X and Y and Z axis where along said Z axis said layer is 1 to 100 pm, where said Z axis indicates thickness of said layer; (ii) depositing, on said layer, a known amount of a model fine particulate matter comprising a first substance responsive to depth profile analysis where said cosmetic composition comprises a second substance, not comprised in said model fine particulate matter but also responsive to said depth profile analysis where the response of said first and second substances are distinguishable; (iii) for a pre-determined period after depositing said model fine particulate matter, periodically measuring response of said first and said second substance by said depth profile analysis, to thereby determine the amount of said model fine particulate matter at defined intervals along said Z axis; and, (iv) ascertaining said efficacy based on the amount of said model fine particulate matter at said defined intervals along said Z axis throughout said pre-determined period.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé in vitro de détermination de l'efficacité d'une composition cosmétique ou d'un ou de plusieurs ingrédients contenus dans celle-ci à empêcher un polluant particulaire de venir en contact avec la peau, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes suivantes : (i) mise en contact d'un équivalent de peau humaine avec une composition cosmétique pour former, lors du séchage, une couche de celle-ci s'étendant le long d'axes X et Y et Z mutuellement perpendiculaires, ladite couche étant de 1 à 100 pm le long dudit axe Z, ledit axe Z indiquant l'épaisseur de ladite couche ; (ii) dépôt, sur ladite couche, d' une quantité connue d'un modèle de matière particulaire fine comprenant une première substance sensible à une analyse de profil de profondeur, ladite composition cosmétique comprenant une seconde substance, non comprise dans ledit modèle de matière particulaire fine mais également sensible à ladite analyse de profil de profondeur, la réponse desdites première et seconde substances pouvant être différenciée ; (iii) pendant une période prédéterminée après le dépôt dudit modèle de matière particulaire fine, la mesure périodique de la réponse desdites première et seconde substances par ladite analyse de profil de profondeur, pour ainsi déterminer la quantité dudit modèle de matière particulaire fine à des intervalles définis le long dudit axe Z ; et, (iv) la détermination de ladite efficacité sur la base de la quantité dudit modèle de matière particulaire fine au niveau desdits intervalles définis le long dudit axe Z pendant toute ladite période prédéterminée.
