Wide aperture optical communications systems and methods are disclosed. A first employs two lens arrays, arranged facing each other, and with one of the MLAs movable relative to the other. A second aspect employs a plurality of electromagnetic radiation capture units positioned under a focusing unit such as a dome, such that incoming electromagnetic radiation incident on the dome is deflected by it, to reach each of the capture units with a different timing and intensity. The profile for the timings and intensities can be determined for a given transmitter using a calibration signal, and the profile is then used to extra data from data signals transmitted by the transmitter.

La présente invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés de communications optiques à grande ouverture. Un premier aspect utilise deux réseaux de lentilles, disposés en regard l'un de l'autre, et l'un des MLA est mobile par rapport à l'autre. Un second aspect utilise une pluralité d'unités de capture de rayonnement électromagnétique positionnées sous une unité de mise au point telle qu'un dôme, de sorte que le rayonnement électromagnétique entrant incident sur le dôme soit dévié par lui pour atteindre chacune des unités de capture avec une synchronisation et une intensité différentes. Le profil des synchronisations et des intensités peut être déterminé pour un émetteur donné à l'aide d'un signal de calibrage, après quoi le profil est utilisé pour extraire des données de signaux de données émis par l'émetteur.
