A launch device coupling a prime mover to a transmission. The launch device includes a front cover for connecting to the output of the prime mover and an output hub for connecting to the input of the transmission. A rear cover is connected to the front cover and cooperates to define a chamber. Within the chamber are an impeller and a turbine having a plurality of opposing blades such that hydraulic fluid is directed from the impeller blades and toward the turbine blades. A main damper is provided between the turbine and output hub of the launch device. Coupled to the main damper is a lock-out clutch configured to releasably lock the main damper for rotation with one of the front and rear covers. The launch device also includes an active dynamic damper system coupled to the main damper and configured to reduce resonance influence on the main damper.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de lancement accouplant un moteur primaire et une transmission. Le dispositif de lancement comprend un couvercle avant destiné à être relié à la sortie du moteur principal et un moyeu de sortie destiné à venir en prise avec l'entrée de la transmission. Un couvercle arrière est relié au couvercle avant et coopère pour délimiter une chambre. Dans la chambre se trouvent une hélice et une turbine comportant une pluralité de pales opposées de sorte qu'un fluide hydraulique soit dirigé à partir des pales de turbine et vers les pales de turbine. Un amortisseur principal est disposé entre la turbine et le moyeu de sortie du dispositif de lancement. Un embrayage à verrouillage conçu pour verrouiller de manière libérable l'amortisseur principal à des fins de rotation avec l'un des couvercles avant et arrière est accouplé à l'amortisseur principal. Le dispositif de lancement comprend également un système d'amortisseur dynamique actif accouplé à l'amortisseur principal et conçu pour réduire l'influence de résonance sur l'amortisseur principal.
