As a means for determining the presence or absence of a failure of a rotation sensor, a control device of a direct current (DC) motor is provided which is capable of using an output signal of an inexpensive Hall element to generate position information with relatively high accuracy. According to the present invention, a DC motor is operated to start at a prescribed rotation speed in both forward and reverse directions according to an initialization driving signal; information on an absolute origin position (Zα) of a magnetoresistive (MR) sensor with respect to the rotational axis is acquired from a synchronization relationship among the initialization driving signal, and an output signal of and position determination information on an A-phase or B-phase which is obtained from a rotation sensor unit by driving the DC motor; synchronization determination information is generated on the basis of the phase difference between the absolute origin position and information on a rotation angle obtained from the Hall element; and all data, including the A-phase or B-phase, the information on the absolute origin position, and the synchronization determination information is converted to data of an absolute signal, and the converted data is recorded in a rewritable non-volatile memory.

La présente invention vise à fournir un moyen permettant de déterminer la présence ou l'absence d'une panne d'un capteur de rotation. À cet effet, l'invention concerne un dispositif de commande d'un moteur à courant continu (CC) pouvant utiliser un signal de sortie d'un élément à effet Hall peu coûteux de manière à générer des informations de position avec une précision relativement élevée.
