Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed are systems and methods for rapid generation of simulations of a patient's spinal morphology that enable pre-operative viewing of a patient's condition and to assist surgeons in determining the best corrective procedure and with any of the selection, augmentation or manufacture of spinal devices based on the patient specific simulated condition. The simulation is generated by morphing a generic spine model with a three-dimensional curve representation of the patient's particular spinal morphology derived from existing images of the patient's condition. Other anatomical structures in the patient's skeletal system are likewise simulated by morphing a generic normal skeletal model, as applicable, particularly those skeletal entities that are connected directly or indirectly to the spinal column.
(FR) L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés destinés à générer rapidement des simulations de la morphologie vertébrale d'un patient qui permettent d'avoir une visualisation préopératoire de l'état d'un patient et d'aider les chirurgiens à déterminer la meilleure intervention corrective, avec la sélection, l'augmentation ou la fabrication de dispositifs vertébraux sur la base de l'état simulé spécifique au patient. La simulation est générée par morphage d'un modèle de colonne vertébrale générique avec une représentation de courbe tridimensionnelle de la morphologie vertébrale particulière du patient dérivée d'images existantes de l'état du patient. D'autres structures anatomiques du système squelettique du patient sont également simulées par morphage d'un modèle squelettique normal générique, le cas échéant, en particulier les entités squelettiques qui sont reliées directement ou indirectement à la colonne vertébrale.
