Abstract:
(EN) Apparatus and devices to monitor optical power within optical fibers in a substantially non-invasive fashion are disclosed. Optical monitors are comprised of low leakage junctions within very compact optical junctions which each confine the leakage within a very small local volume but also include photodiode means to ascertain signal amplitude. Multiplexing circuits for different groupings of lines enables automated monitoring of optical status across a communication network.
(FR) L'invention concerne un appareil et des dispositifs pour surveiller la puissance optique à l'intérieur de fibres optiques d'une manière sensiblement non invasive. Des moniteurs optiques sont constitués de jonctions à faible fuite dans des jonctions optiques très compactes qui confinent chacune la fuite dans un très petit volume local ; ils comprennent également des moyens de photodiode pour déterminer une amplitude de signal. Des circuits de multiplexage pour différents groupements de lignes permettent une surveillance automatisée de l'état optique à travers un réseau de communication.
