Abstract:
(EN) Methods for measuring the sulfur content in a plurality of individual sulfur-containing fiber or article samples, comprising: a) contacting a plurality of samples with a solution comprising potassium hydroxide to convert the sulfur to potassium sulfate; b) concurrently and individually combusting the plurality of samples from step a) in a furnace at a temperature of greater than 650 °C to remove essentially all organic materials to produce a plurality of residues; c) dissolving each of the pluralities of residue in concentrated nitric acid to form individual residue solutions; and d) analyzing the individual residue solutions with Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) Emission Spectrometry to determine the sulfur content of each sample.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des procédés de mesure de la teneur en soufre dans une pluralité d’échantillons individuels de fibres ou d’articles contenant du soufre, comprenant : a) la mise en contact d’une pluralité d’échantillons avec une solution comprenant de l’hydroxyde de potassium pour convertir le soufre en sulfate de potassium ; b) la combustion simultanée et individuelle de la pluralité d’échantillons de l’étape a) dans un four à une température supérieure à 650 °C pour éliminer pratiquement tous les matériaux organiques pour produire une pluralité de résidus ; c) la dissolution de chacune des pluralités de résidus dans de l’acide nitrique concentré pour former des solutions de résidu individuelles ; et d) l’analyse des solutions de résidu individuelles avec une spectrométrie d’émission à plasma à couplage inductif (ICP) pour déterminer la teneur en soufre de chaque échantillon.
