Abstract:
(EN) Systems and methods are provided for physically labeling structural features, such as weld joints in a pipeline, with pattern-based codes that uniquely identify respective features. The systems and methods are also provided for identifying the features based on imagery of the codes captured during subsequent inspection of the weld joints. In particular, the weld joints can be uniquely identified by encoding measured geographic coordinates within two distinguishable circular patterns that correspond to latitude and longitude, respectively. In addition, the pattern-based codes can be applied to respective weld joints using a contrast material such that the codes are revealed in the images of the weld joints captured during inspection. Furthermore, the systems and methods include analyzing the images captured during inspection to identify the inspected weld joints for the purpose of verifying that each weld joint was properly inspected in the field.
(FR) L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés destinés à marquer physiquement des éléments structurels, tels que des joints de soudure dans un pipeline, avec des codes à base de motifs qui identifient de manière unique des caractéristiques respectives. L'invention concerne également des systèmes et les procédés pour identifier les caractéristiques sur la base d'une imagerie des codes capturés pendant l'inspection ultérieure des joints de soudure. En particulier, les joints de soudure peuvent être identifiés de manière unique par codage de coordonnées géographiques mesurées dans deux motifs circulaires distincts qui correspondent respectivement à la latitude et à la longitude. En outre, les codes à base de motif peuvent être appliqués à des joints de soudure respectifs à l'aide d'un matériau de contraste de telle sorte que les codes sont révélés dans les images des joints de soudure capturés pendant l'inspection.
