Abstract:
(EN) Adhesive compositions are disclosed comprising acrylic copolymers formed from a monomer mixture comprising, based on the total weight of monomers in the monomer mixture, from 59 to 97.9 weight percent 2-ethylhexyl acrylate, from 0.1 to 10 weight percent styrene, from 0 to 25 weight percent methyl methacrylate, and from 2 to 30 weight percent ethyl acrylate, wherein the ratio of ethyl acrylate to styrene (by weight) is greater than 4.5 to 1. Methods for preparing adhesive compositions are disclosed comprising feeding an aqueous initial charge to a reactor, heating the aqueous initial charge to from about 30 to 110°C, gradually feeding a monomer mixture into the reactor over a period of time (less than 3 hours), in the presence of a free-radical polymerization initiator, thereby forming the acrylic adhesive composition, wherein the amount of free monomer in the reactor does not exceed 17 percent by weight, based on the total weight of the reactor contents, during gradual feeding.
(FR) L'invention concerne des compositions adhésives comprenant des copolymères acryliques formés à partir d'un mélange de monomères comprenant, sur la base du poids total des monomères du mélange de monomères, de 59 à 97,9 % en poids d'acrylate de 2-éthylhexyle, de 0,1 à 10 % en poids de styrène, de 0 à 25 % en poids de méthacrylate de méthyle, et de 2 à 30 % en poids d'acrylate d'éthyle, le rapport de l'acrylate d'éthyle au styrène (en poids) étant supérieur à 4,5 à 1. L'invention concerne des procédés de préparation des compositions adhésives consistant à introduire une charge aqueuse initiale dans un réacteur, chauffer la charge aqueuse initiale à d'environ 30 à 110 °C, introduire progressivement un mélange de monomères dans le réacteur sur une période de temps (inférieure à 3 heures), en présence d'un amorceur de polymérisation radicalaire, ce qui permet de former la composition acrylique adhésive, la quantité de monomère libre dans le réacteur ne dépassant pas 17 % en poids, sur la base du poids total du contenu du réacteur, pendant l'introduction progressive.
