Abstract:
(EN) Provided is a magnetic tape which comprises, on a non-magnetic supporting body, a magnetic layer that contains a ferromagnetic powder and a binder, and which is configured such that: the magnetic layer contains an oxide polishing agent; the average particle diameter of the oxide polishing agent as obtained from secondary ion images that are taken by irradiating the surface of the magnetic layer with a focused ion beam is more than 0.08 μm but 0.14 μm or less; and the absolute value ∆N of the difference between the refractive index Nxy of the magnetic layer as measured in the in-plane direction and the refractive index Nz of the magnetic layer as measured in the thickness direction is from 0.25 to 0.40 (inclusive). Also provided is a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus which comprises this magnetic tape.
(FR) L'invention concerne une bande magnétique qui comprend, sur un corps de support non magnétique, une couche magnétique qui contient une poudre ferromagnétique et un liant, et qui est configurée de sorte que : la couche magnétique contienne un agent de polissage d'oxyde ; le diamètre de particule moyen de l'agent de polissage d'oxyde tel qu'obtenu à partir d'images d'ions secondaires qui sont prises par irradiation de la surface de la couche magnétique avec un faisceau d'ions focalisé est supérieur à 0,08 µm mais inférieur ou égal à 0,14 µm ; et la valeur absolue ∆N de la différence entre l'indice de réfraction Nxy de la couche magnétique telle que mesurée dans la direction dans le plan et l'indice de réfraction Nz de la couche magnétique telle que mesurée dans la direction de l'épaisseur est comprise entre 0,25 et 0,40 (inclus). L'invention concerne également un appareil d'enregistrement/reproduction magnétique qui comprend cette bande magnétique.
