Abstract:
(EN) Provided are an endoscope and an endoscope system with which it is possible to achieve high speed transfer of imaging signals and a smaller-diameter distal end part. This endoscope (2) is provided with: a superimposed signal generation unit (51) for generating, as a superimposed signal, a signal in which high and low levels of a pulsed data signal are associated with changes in the pulse width of a reference clock signal, and outputting the signal to a transmission cable (3); a PLL unit (221) for generating a multiplication clock signal for driving a parallel-serial conversion unit (224), the multiplication clock signal being synchronized with a rising edge or a falling edge of the superimposed signal and having a higher frequency than the superimposed signal; and a restoration unit (222) for restoring the reference clock signal and the data signal included in the superimposed signal on the basis of the superimposed signal and the multiplication clock signal.
