Abstract:
(EN) This invention relates to method and apparatus for extracting energy from water waves to generate electric power. The wave energy converter utilizes sea wave oscillations, from a land-based position. It comprises a land-based power take off apparatus (3) that is oscillated by waves conveyed to it by canal or tunnel. The canal has a funnel shaped intake (1) at the coastline, a wave control gate (9) positioned near the intake and a power take off apparatus (3) positioned inland across the canal with a float (8) that works pumping cylinders (7) that pump hydraulic fluid to turn an impulse turbine (5) coupled to an electricity generator to generate electricity. The canal depth is predetermined to float the float, of the power take off apparatus (3), at all tide levels. On the aft side of the float the canal traces a path looped back (4) to the fore side of the float to include extraction of residual wave power.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil d'extraction d'énergie à partir d'ondes d'eau pour produire de l'énergie électrique. Le convertisseur d'énergie houlomotrice utilise les oscillations d'ondes de mer, à partir d'une position terrestre. Il comprend un appareil de prise de force terrestre qui est mis en oscillation par les ondes transmises vers celui-ci par un canal ou tunnel. Le canal a une entrée en forme d'entonnoir au niveau de la côte, une grille de régulation d'onde positionnée à proximité de l'entrée et un appareil de prise de force positionné à l'intérieur à travers le canal avec un flotteur qui fait fonctionner des cylindres de pompage qui pompent un fluide hydraulique pour faire tourner une turbine à action couplée à un générateur d'électricité en vue de produire de l'électricité. La profondeur du canal est prédéterminée pour faire flotter le flotteur de l'appareil de prise de force à tous les niveaux de marée. Sur le côté arrière du flotteur, le canal trace un trajet sous forme de boucle avec retour vers le côté avant du flotteur pour inclure l'extraction de l'énergie houlomotrice résiduelle.
