Title (EN) A PROCESS FOR THE CELL-FREE ENZYMATIC PRODUCTION OF 10-HYDROXYSTEARIC ACID (10-HSA) FROM BIO-BASED OILS FOR LUBRICANT FORMULATION
(FR) PROCÉDÉ DE PRODUCTION ACELLULAIRE ENZYMATIQUE D'ACIDE 10-HYDROXYSTÉARIQUE (10-HSA) À PARTIR D'HUILES À BASE BIOLOGIQUE POUR FORMULATION DE LUBRIFIANTS
Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to an enzymatic process for the modification of free fatty acids (FFAs) derived from renewable feedstocks of bio-based oils. Specifically, the invention describes the hydrolysis of any bio-based oil, such as high oleic sunflower oil (HOSO), to FFAs, containing high amounts of oleic acid (OA), which is further hydrated to 10-hydroxystearic acid (10-HSA).
