L'invention concerne un dispositif de démarrage de secours à batterie rechargeable doté d'un système de rétroéclairage à commutateur de commande. Le système de rétroéclairage à commutateur de commande est conçu pour aider un utilisateur à visualiser, à la lumière du jour, au soleil, sous faible éclairage et dans l'obscurité, les positions sélectionnables du commutateur de commande de façon à sélectionner un mode de fonctionnement particulier 12V ou 24V du dispositif de démarrage de secours à batterie rechargeable portable.
