In the present invention, a manufacturing step (S1) for a stator (1) comprises: an arrangement step (S12) in which at least one of a conductor edge part (41) of a first segment conductor (5) and a conductor edge part (41) of a second segment conductor (6) is arranged within a slot (21) so that an opposing face (44) of one joint part (43) of the first segment conductor (5) and an opposing face (44) of one joint part (43) of the second segment conductor (6) oppose each other; a restriction step (S15) in which movement in the radial direction (R) of the conductor edge parts (41) is restricted; and a joining step (S14) in which at least one of the first segment conductor (5) and the second segment conductor (6) is pressed in the axial direction (L) so that the first segment conductor (5) and second segment conductor (6) approach each other while maintaining the restriction state of the restriction step (S15), and the joint part (43) of the first segment conductor (5) and the joint part (43) of the second segment conductor (6) are joined.
