An ultrasonic sensor (101) comprises: a case (4) that has a base plate (3); and a piezoelectric vibration element (7) that is mounted on the base plate (3). The case (4) has an inner space (20) that is a concave portion recessed toward the base plate (3). When viewed from a direction perpendicular to the base plate (3), the inner space (20) has a shape in which a longitudinal direction (91) thereof is one direction that is parallel to the base plate (3). The case (4) includes a first part (41) that has a cylindrical shape and in which the diameter of the outer shape thereof in the longitudinal direction (91) is a first length D1 and a second part (42) that has a cylindrical shape and in which the diameter of the outer shape thereof in the longitudinal direction (91) is a second length D2 that is larger than the first length D1. The maximum length in the longitudinal direction (91) of a part of the inner space (20) that is inside the second part (42) is larger than the maximum length in the longitudinal direction (91) of a part of the inner space (20) that is inside the first part (41).
