(EN) This image display device (100) is provided with a liquid crystal cell (122), a rectangular plate-shape light guide plate (136) which is arranged on the back surface of the liquid crystal cell (122), a light source unit (134) which is arranged along at least one end surface of the light guide plate (136) and which emits light towards said end surface, a reflective sheet (138) which is arranged on the back surface of the light guide plate (136) and which reflects light emitted by the light source unit (134) towards the liquid crystal cell (122), and a baseplate which is arranged on the back surface of the reflective sheet (138) and supports the reflective sheet (138), wherein the reflective sheet (138) is provided with protruding parts (139) which, in positions corresponding to both ends of the light source unit (134), protrude towards the light source unit (134).
