Abstract:
(EN) In accordance with one or more embodiments, a communication device includes a dielectric antenna having a feed point and an aperture. A cable comprising a conductorless core is coupled to the feed point of the dielectric antenna. A transmitter is coupled to the cable and facilitates a transmission of first electromagnetic waves to the feed point of the dielectric antenna. The first electromagnetic waves are guided by the conductorless core and propagate along the conductorless core without requiring an electrical return path, and the first electromagnetic waves generate free-space wireless signals from the aperture of the antenna in accordance with a circularly polarized antenna beam pattern.
(FR) Selon un ou plusieurs modes de réalisation de la présente invention, un dispositif de communication comprend une antenne diélectrique ayant un point d'alimentation et une ouverture. Un câble comprenant un noyau sans conducteur est couplé au point d'alimentation de l'antenne diélectrique. Un émetteur est couplé au câble et facilite une émission de premières ondes électromagnétiques au point d'alimentation de l'antenne diélectrique. Les premières ondes électromagnétiques sont guidées par le noyau sans conducteur et se propagent le long du noyau sans conducteur sans nécessiter de chemin de retour électrique, et les premières ondes électromagnétiques génèrent des signaux sans fil d'espace libre depuis l'ouverture de l'antenne selon un motif de faisceau d'antenne à polarisation circulaire.
