Abstract:
(EN) In accordance with one or more embodiments, a communication device includes a dielectric antenna having a longitudinal axis, a feed point and an aperture. A cable comprising a core is coupled to the feed point of the dielectric antenna. A transmitter, coupled to the cable, facilitates a transmission of first electromagnetic waves to the feed point of the dielectric antenna, the first electromagnetic waves guided by the core. The first electromagnetic waves propagate along the core without requiring an electrical return path, and the first electromagnetic waves generate free-space wireless signals from the aperture of the antenna in accordance with a hollow-boresight antenna beam pattern.
(FR) Selon un ou plusieurs modes de réalisation, un dispositif de communication comprend une antenne diélectrique ayant un axe longitudinal, un point d'alimentation et une ouverture. Un câble comprenant une âme est couplé au point d'alimentation de l'antenne diélectrique. Un émetteur, couplé au câble, permet une émission de premières ondes électromagnétiques au point d'alimentation de l'antenne diélectrique, les premières ondes électromagnétiques étant guidées par l'âme. Les premières ondes électromagnétiques se propagent le long de l'âme sans nécessiter un chemin de retour électrique, et les premières ondes électromagnétiques génèrent des signaux sans fil d'espace libre depuis l'ouverture de l'antenne conformément à un motif de faisceau d'antenne à axe de pointage creux.
