Ultraviolet radiation sun protective compositions are reported which feature micronized metal oxide inorganic particles selected from zinc oxide, titanium oxide and mixtures thereof, the inorganic particles being coated with poly[C8– C20 hydroxycarboxylic acid], the coated particles measured at a 10% loading in dodecane and 1 minute elapsed time having a Zeta Potential ranging from 2 to 10 mv, amounts of the poly[C8 – C20 hydroxycarboxylic acid] to the inorganic particles being in a relative weight ratio of 1:100 to 1:10.

L'invention concerne des compositions de protection solaire, contre le rayonnement ultraviolet, comprenant des particules inorganiques d'oxyde métallique micronisées, sélectionnées parmi l'oxyde de zinc, l'oxyde de titane et des mélanges de ceux-ci, ces particules inorganiques étant revêtues d'acide poly[C8–C20 hydroxycarboxylique] ; les particules revêtues, mesurées à une charge de 10 % dans du dodécane et après 1 minute écoulée, présentant un potentiel zêta compris entre 2 et 10 mv ; les quantités d'acide poly[C8–C20 hydroxycarboxylique] par rapport aux particules inorganiques représentant un rapport de poids relatif de 1:100 à 1:10.
