Abstract:
(EN) In accordance with one or more embodiments, a communication device includes a dual-band antenna array configured to communicate RF signals in an RF band and to communicate MMW signals in a MMW frequency band with a remote device. At least one transceiver is configured to generate the RF signals conveying a command to the remote device to transmit probe signals in the MMW frequency band, to receive the probe signals via the dual-band antenna in the MMW frequency band, and is initialized with first antenna beam steering parameters to facilitate a first antenna beam of the dual-band antenna array for the operation in the MMW frequency band. A controller is configured to generate the first antenna beam steering parameters based on the probe signals and to generate the control signal to switch the dual-band antenna array to the operation in the MMW frequency band after transmission of the RF signals.
(FR) Selon un ou plusieurs modes de réalisation, un dispositif de communication comprend un réseau d'antennes à double bande conçu pour communiquer à un dispositif distant des signaux RF dans une bande RF et des signaux MMW dans une bande de fréquences MMW. Au moins un émetteur-récepteur est conçu pour générer les signaux RF véhiculant une instruction jusqu'au dispositif distant de façon à émettre des signaux de sonde dans la bande de fréquences MMW et pour recevoir les signaux de sonde par l'intermédiaire de l'antenne à double bande dans la bande de fréquences MMW. Ledit au moins un émetteur-récepteur est initialisé avec des paramètres d'orientation d'un premier faisceau d'antenne de façon à assister un premier faisceau d'antenne du réseau d'antennes à double bande pour le mode de fonctionnement dans la bande de fréquences MMW. Un dispositif de commande est conçu pour générer les paramètres d'orientation du premier faisceau d'antenne sur la base des signaux de sonde et pour générer le signal de commande de façon à commuter le réseau d'antennes à double bande vers le mode de fonctionnement dans la bande de fréquences MMW après émission des signaux RF.
