Abstract:
(EN) Embodiments are disclosed of an apparatus including a digital camera to capture video or a sequence of still images of a user's hand. One or more processors are coupled to the digital camera to process the video or the sequence of still images to produce a digital representation of the user's hand, to determine the gesture and motion of the user's hand from the digital representation, and to correlate the gesture or the gesture/motion combination to a user interface command. A user interface controller is coupled to receive the user interface command from the one or more processors. A display is coupled to the user interface controller. The user interface controller causes a set of one or more user interface controls to appear on the display. The user interface command selects or adjusts one or more of the set of displayed user interface controls, and motion of the selected user interface control tracks the motion of the user's hand in substantially real time. Other embodiments are disclosed and claimed.
(FR) Des modes de réalisation de l'invention concernent un appareil comprenant une caméra numérique permettant de capturer une vidéo ou une séquence d'images fixes de la main d'un utilisateur. Un ou plusieurs processeurs sont couplés à la caméra numérique pour traiter la vidéo ou la séquence d'images fixes afin de produire une représentation numérique de la main de l'utilisateur, de déterminer le geste et le mouvement de la main de l'utilisateur à partir de la représentation numérique, et de corréler le geste ou la combinaison geste/mouvement avec une commande d'interface utilisateur. Une unité de commande d'interface utilisateur est couplée pour recevoir la commande d'interface utilisateur du ou des processeurs. Un dispositif d'affichage est couplé à l'unité de commande d'interface utilisateur. L'unité de commande d'interface utilisateur amène un ensemble constitué d'une ou de plusieurs commandes d'interface utilisateur à apparaître sur le dispositif d'affichage. La commande d'interface utilisateur sélectionne ou ajuste une ou plusieurs commandes de l'ensemble des commandes d'interface utilisateur affichées, puis le mouvement de la commande d'interface utilisateur sélectionnée suit le mouvement de la main de l'utilisateur en temps sensiblement réel.
