Abstract:
(EN) A high energy visible (HEV) light absorbing material for an ophthalmic substrate and application through physical vapor deposition. The HEV light absorbing material is deposited onto the ophthalmic substrate, such as an optical lens. The HEV light absorbing material is applied through physical vapor deposition. The HEV light absorbing material is applied as a thin layer on ophthalmic substrates for flexibility and color adaptation. The HEV light absorbing material includes at least one of: aluminum zinc oxide, indium zinc oxide and gallium zinc oxide with a material commonly used in the design of antireflective absorbing materials. The HEV light absorbing coating is antireflective and transmits up to 98% of light for the rest of spectrum. The HEV light absorbing material allows the ophthalmic substrate to selectively absorb blue light that falls in the wavelength range of about 400 nm to about 460 nm so that flux of blue light to the internal structures of the eye is reduced.
(FR) L'invention concerne un matériau absorbant la lumière visible à haute énergie (HEV) pour un substrat ophtalmique et une application par dépôt physique en phase vapeur. Le matériau absorbant la lumière HEV est déposé sur le substrat ophtalmique, tel qu'une lentille optique. Le matériau absorbant la lumière HEV est appliqué par dépôt physique en phase vapeur. Le matériau absorbant la lumière HEV est appliqué sous la forme d'une couche mince sur les substrats ophtalmiques pour la flexibilité et l'adaptation des couleurs. Le matériau absorbant la lumière HEV comprend au moins l'un parmi : l'oxyde de zinc-aluminium, l'oxyde de zinc-indium et l'oxyde de zinc-gallium, avec un matériau couramment utilisé dans la conception de matériaux absorbants antireflets. Le revêtement absorbant la lumière HEV est antireflet et transmet jusqu'à 98 % de la lumière pour le reste du spectre. Le matériau absorbant la lumière HEV permet au substrat ophtalmique d'absorber sélectivement la lumière bleue qui se situe dans la plage de longueurs d'onde comprise entre environ 400 nm et environ 460 nm de telle sorte que le flux de lumière bleue dirigé vers les structures internes de l’œil est réduit.
