Abstract:
(EN) A method and plant for abatement of vapors containing polluting substances resulting from coke quenching with energy recovery are described. The method comprises a number of steps among which cooling glowing coke until substantial quenching through contact with a quenching liquid, obtaining quenched coke and a flow of vapors containing polluting substances; conveying said flow of vapors towards at least one heat exchanger comprising a first heat exchange fluid to carry out a first indirect heat exchange, obtaining a condensed vapor comprising said polluting substances and a heated first heat exchange fluid; as well as conveying the latter towards at least one second heat exchanger, in order to cool it through a second indirect heat exchange. A method for revamping a pre-existing coke quenching plant for carrying out the above-described process is disclosed as well.
(FR) L'installation concerne un procédé et une installation destinés à la réduction de vapeurs contenant des substances polluantes résultant de l'extinction du coke, avec récupération d'énergie. Le procédé comprend un certain nombre d'étapes, parmi lesquelles le refroidissement du coke incandescent jusqu'à une extinction substantielle par contact avec un liquide d'extinction, l'obtention de coke éteint et d'un flux de vapeurs contenant des substances polluantes ; l'acheminement dudit flux de vapeurs vers au moins un échangeur de chaleur comprenant un premier fluide d'échange de chaleur pour effectuer un premier échange de chaleur indirect, l'obtention d'une vapeur condensée comprenant lesdites substances polluantes et d'un premier fluide d'échange thermique chauffé ; ainsi que l'acheminement de ce dernier vers au moins un second échangeur de chaleur, en vue de le refroidir par un second échange de chaleur indirect. L'invention concerne également un procédé de modernisation d'une installation d'extinction du coke pré-existante en vue de la mise en œuvre du procédé décrit ci-dessus.
